Last night we stumbled across the most remarkable film on television, It has stayed with me all day. The Art of Catching Lobsters filmed by Jane Darke about her husband, Nick, working as a playwright, fisherman and wrecker(beachcomber) in his native Cornwall and teaching his son how to catch lobsters and also about his battle with illness. The film is about loss, it is sad, poignant and funny, and filled to the brim with love. A rare gem of a film well worth seeing. It is being repeated on Sunday morning 12.00am on BBC4. I for one will be setting my video this time.
Jane Darke is also a wonderful artist as you can see on her website.
